About Our Farm

Winnicut River Farm is a regenerative farm.   We try to always adhere to the principles of soil health in any management decision made on the farm.  Healthy soil grows nutrient rich forage, which in turn makes happy and, more importantly, healthy animals.  By intensively managing the rotation of the animals, we can improve the disturbance and regrowth of the forages.  The animals move to fresh pasture each day, sometimes twice per day.   Our animals are content because they are eating while also developing healthy food.

We will never apply fertilizers, feed any hormones, and do not medicate our animals. There is no use of pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides on our farm.  Our animals are healthier by being 100% grassfed on a holistic management system.  Our animals and pastures are thriving.  The farm gets better each year as a result of proper management of the animals and pastures.  The soil and pastures are not merely sustaining, they are regenerating.
